History
Econoloft is a family run business which was set up in the early 1980’s by Derek Livesey, a qualified joiner and craftsman. Derek had already worked in the building industry for many years gaining, amongst other skills, experience in converting lofts. He realised he enjoyed converting lofts, with a natural talent and good eye for producing excellent results, so it was a natural progression to start his own specialist company – Econoloft.
In the early years, of the company’s life, he personally designed and completed many conversions, developing his experience and knowledge further, and in the process establishing the company’s reputation as one of the major loft converters in the UK.
Over the years the company has grown, under his leadership, and now has twenty office staff based between the London and Lancashire branches. The workforce, which has grown considerably too, consists of twenty teams of skilled craftsmen needed to meet the great demand.
Derek stills oversees the daily running of the company but has now been joined by a new generation of Livesey’s. His son Robert and daughter Rebecca both work for the company in managerial roles.
Today, Robert, Rebecca and Derek all embrace modern technology and combine it with traditional workmanship, innovation and vision to complete around 200 loft conversions a year.
