Mansard Conversion
This option is common in older properties especially in cities like London but not often used in the suburbs. It is often the preferred option from a planning perspective in sensitive areas. It is slightly different to the dormer option because instead of adding to the existing roof space the existing rear roof is removed and rebuilt to accommodate the conversion.
